"A simplified version of a classic family sweet bread recipe."

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl, put 3 cups flour, 2 packages yeast, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1 tsp salt.

Melt butter in microwave, then add milk and water and heat to 120 degrees.

Pour liquid into the flour mixture and mix.

Add 4 eggs and mix.

Add remaining flour and mix / knead. (Add raisins if desired.)

Put into 2 or 3 greased bread pans.

Heat oven to lowest temperature (130 degrees) and turn it off.

Put bread in the warm oven for about an hour with damp paper towel on top.

When doubled in size, cook for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Step 10

Remove and brush with egg mixture, and cook for 10 more minutes.
